Upgraded at JJClix; Donkey changes their PTP rates; SeaTurtles point ads
Aug 3, 2009

I just upgraded my account at JJClix the other day (only took about 24 hours to go through!), and so far I'm very pleased. I now have access to the $0.80 CPM PTP with outstanding tier rates. I also have access to the wand game (0-4ish cents, can play once daily) and random cash (1-9 cents, once a week), plus a plethora of monthly ads. I'm confident I'll make up the price of the upgrade and then some in the next six months. In fact, the ads alone will just about be worth the upgrade price.

DonkeyMails has announced that come August 15th their PTP rates will be going down to $0.50 CPM from the current $0.75 CPM. They haven't said if they'll automatically cash everyone out at the higher rate before it switches over or if you have to have 1000 credits to cash out in time. I'm wishy-washy on Donkey - don't love it, don't hate it - but this makes me a little more negative about them. I don't think I'll leave the site over it, but I won't be promoting them much in the future, either. I'll still use their surfer for some quick credits on my other PTP links (especially to JJ now!), the PTC section has some high value links, and the emails are all worth 0.25 cent each. The site itself just isn't very appealing to me, for reasons I can't seem to put my finger on.

SeaTurtlesPTR started using ads-only points a while ago (meaning you can only use them for ads, they can't be converted to cash). SeaTurtles used to be a big earner for me but since the points were introduced it's dropped quite a bit. I'm not a fan of ads-only points in general, and in fact I voted against it when Kris asked us members if we wanted them. All that said, I have redeemed my points for ads several times now and I have to say the results are pretty impressive: a good 80% or so of the hits that I receive are tier 1 & 2 countries, with very few default hits. (This is for the contest ads - I can't speak for the affiliate page or click race ads.) So while I'm still not sure if I'm for points, I am happy so far with the quality of hits the ads are netting me. I'm getting into the whole PTP game more right now, and I have a feeling SeaTurtles will become one of my dependable sources of free ads.
