My top five site recommendations for earning a little extra cash.

Are you completely new to the world of rewards, survey, PTR (paid to read), and PTC (paid to click) sites and want some fun, easy sites to join? Here are my top five recommendations. (All of these programs are safe, free to join and get paid, have paid me multiple times, and are legal in the United states.)

1. MyPoints - MyPoints is very easy to use and has been around for over a decade. This site is great for getting your feet wet. Read emails, use their links to get rewarded for shopping at your normal stores, and much more. You get paid in gift cards to an assortment of popular stores like Old Navy and Barnes and Noble. Read my MyPoints Review for more information.

2. QuickRewards - Similar to MyPoints but you get paid in cash if you wish to (though you have to have a PayPal account to do so). Otherwise they also offer gift cards to popular stores. The layout of QuickRewards takes a little getting used to, but once you do you can make a decent amount. They have some of the best rates for shopping rebates as well as for OTX and Greenfield surveys that I've found anywhere, and there are lots of emails and ads to visit from the site itself. If you're up for a little more of a challenge, this site handily beats MyPoints. Read my QuickRewards Review for more information.

3. NeoBux - This is a true PTC, meaning you only get paid to click advertisement links directly from the web site. There are no emails, shopping rebates, surveys, etc. You are guaranteed to get four one cent links every day and there are usually a couple extra. All you have to do is log in once a day, click your links, and you're set! You can check multiple times a day to see if any extra links have shown up, and the site has other fun features as well (like "renting" referrals). This one is easy if you want it to be, or more complicated if you take part in the other features, and is really the only reputable bux site out there. You do have to have a PayPal or AlertPay account however to be paid. They do not do gift cards. Read my NeoBux Review for more information, but don't let yourself get lost in the details.

4. WordLinx - WordLinx is kind of similar to NeoBux in that you pretty much only get paid to click links (they do send out emails, but rarely.) The difference here is that you are not guaranteed a certain number of links every day, and you have to log in a few times a day to get a decent amount. Still, the site is easy to use and well worth a daily visit. Also requires a PayPal account for payments. See my Comparison Review of WordLinx and ClixSense for more information.

5. NFO My Survey - This is, in my opinion, the best survey site out there that doesn't require an invitation to join. They have surveys from real companies, they pay well, and the surveys are fun! I make about $100 a year here, and I don't even do all the surveys they offer. They also ask for information on the other people living with you to see if they qualify for any surveys. My hubby did a $13 beer survey the other day. Pretty cool!

More info: If you use my links to join QuickRewards, NeoBux, or WordLinx, you become my referral. All I will know about you is the username that you pick for that program, and no other personal information. The other two (MyPoints and NFO My Survey) are just normal links to those web sites, so you do not become a referral. I certainly appreciate you becoming my referral if you do, but I also hope you genuinely enjoy these sites. I've had a lot of fun being part of them myself.

If you find a site is boring or just not to your taste, you can leave at any time - or simply never visit the site again - without worrying about anything. All of these sites have ironclad privacy policies and will never share your info. However, it is always a good idea to pick a different username for these programs than you use elsewhere on the internet, so someone can't get your info somewhere else and try to hack your account (same rules when you open a bank account, etc. This is just basic internet safety advice, but worth repeating a thousand times.)

Thanks for reading and I hope I helped you find a fun program to join and put a few extra dollars in your wallet! For more information about all of this stuff, as well a slew of other sites I recommend, click the links on the right.
